“I was lucky to have some art genes in me,” offers Anderson, who grew up watching his older brother and grandmother create art. However, he’s quick to acknowledge the early influence of some strong art teachers, as well as a number of friends from childhood who were “always painting, drawing and making stuff. So I think it’s a learned trait, but if you have the genes for it, I guess it makes it easier to learn further.”

"I started realistically—I think most artists start realistically—[but] I think with experience, your vision of the world becomes a little bit more abstract, and that’s inspired by chaos and stimulus. And I think it’s also [a reflection of] the times. I’m not adhering to what’s happening now, but I think it has to do with the [current] environment of chaos, as well as what’s shown on TV and packaging with products: I see a lot of neon colors and space as well as cleanliness in line and design, and then some comical but complicated message."

Aptos - Worlds Shortest Parade

I went to the World's Shortest Parade in Aptos on the 4th, it was a lot of fun.

When I was a kid it used to run the other direction, and this was my first time back since then, so it was a little surreal. At least after all I these years my favorite spot to watch from is still there!

Being a surf town Santa Cruz has more than it's fair share of both surfers and businesses catering to surfers. The abundance of surfers extends to the web relating to Santa Cruz as well.
